Baked Onions

Posted by Carole Koch

4 large whole onions, peeled
2 tablespoons softened butter
1 tablespoon fresh thyme or 1 teaspoon dried
salt and pepper to taste

Heat oven to 375 degrees F. Slice off 1/2-inch of stem end of each onion. Spread cut surfaces with butter and sprinkle with thyme, salt and pepper. Place each onion on a square of foil large enough to completely enclose it. Wrap each onion up tightly and bake about 1 hour.

Serves 4.
