Easy Pasta with Butter & Sage

Posted by Carole Koch

Thanks to Monica Thoms, Illinois Benedictine University Dietetic Intern, for sharing this recipe! Monica says: “This recipe is adapted from one I was taught while studying culinary arts in Florence, Italy. Butter and sage sauces occur frequently in Florentine cuisine.” Kids will especially like this recipe!

Your favorite pasta (spaghetti, ravioli, angel hair, fettuccini, gnocchi, etc.)
Fresh sage leaves, to taste
Enough butter to coat pasta
Parmesan or Romano cheese

Cook pasta according to package directions.

While pasta cooks, melt butter in a sauce pan large enough to hold cooked pasta. Add sage leaves to melted butter. Simmer at low heat until pasta is ready.

Add drained pasta to the sauce and mix. Remove sage leaves. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve with parmesan cheese.
