Posted by Carole Koch

3 cups broccoli pieces
1/2 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
1 clove garlic, minced (or substitute garlic scapes)
1/8 to 1/4 cup cold water
soy sauce or salt, to taste
red pepper flakes, to taste

Separate the broccoli florets from the stems. Peel the stems, and cut into bite sized pieces. Break the florets into bite sized pieces.

Place all ingredients in a pot and bring to a boil. Tightly cover and let steam for no more than 5 minutes. The broccoli should be bright green.

Serves 2.
