Beets with Maple Syrup

Posted by Carole Koch

3 to 4 beets, washed
1/4 cup maple syrup
2 tablespoons butter
Cinnamon, sugar and cloves, to taste.

Place whole beets on baking sheet in a 350 degree F. oven. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes. Remove beets from oven. When cool enough to handle, peel and slice the beets. Place beets, butter, maple syrup and seasonings (to taste) in a baking dish. Return to oven and bake for about 15 minutes longer, or until beets are tender and butter and syrup has formed a glaze. Serve hot.

Serves 2 to 3.
