Nutrition in the Schools Network
Our Mission: to educate and advocate for healthy,
nutritional food in schools. Nutritional food - whole food
close to the way nature made it, minimally processed and without
additives - properly nourishes the brain and the body for
optimal health, learning, and social behavior. We work with
parents, teachers, administrators, health professionals, and
students.

Local Wellness Policies: By August, 2006, all school
districts that are part of federally-funded school meal and
snack programs must have a WELLNESS POLICY in place. This
policy must include nutritional standards for ALL foods served
in schools and PARENTS and THE PUBLIC MUST be involved. But,
development of the policy is only the first step - there remains
much to be done! Click here
for more information.
